Holiday Spirit in DC Gaylord National Harbor

10:01 PM

It’s the final countdown to Christmas. Although I just got back from a cruise and not really plan on venturing out anywhere out of town during this upcoming long break, I love checking out all the beautiful lights and Christmas trees in the DC Metro area. Besides the famous National Christmas Tree, there are many other places where locals love to visit during the holiday season.

At the DC National Harbor, Gaylord National Resort turns into a snow globe during the holiday season. The atrium was filled with Christmas decorations, becoming its own little Christmas village. Dancing lights flickered through the village as the central fountain moved to the sounds of Christmas music. The lights, fountain, and even the hanging Christmas tree were all synchronized together to help tell a Christmas tale as well! At the finale, we were all treated to a lovely snowfall despite being a comfortable 72 degrees inside the hotel.

The outfit I chose for the evening also helped me stay warm and cozy inside (and out!). The red accents on the scarf adds a hint of festiveness to this otherwise neutral outfit. If you don’t own many red, green, or gold pieces like me, here is some inspiration for how to dress this holiday season without gaudy like an overdrecorrated Christmas tree!
